I feel so cheated.
Like, so many times yesterday D:
Where should I start? Oh, I had my first aider test yesterday. I awoke and rushed to Red Cross House - Yong Kang got all blur and forgot his EZlink so he was late. The morning was mainly revision, and practicing all the bandaging again. Finally learned how to do the elevated arm sling properly.
After all the theory and practical revision the Cat High group left early for lunch at Mac. I couldn't stop thinking of the test, kept asking questions regarding theory - but what's the point, besides me only He Yuan studied, the rest was so relaxed!
Back after lunch was more practicing and studying, until 1400hours. Everyone was real nervous, Royal told horror stories about how strict our examiner would be, that he's "a senior ranking Red Crosser that will not hesitate to fail people". I was rocking in my seat nervously as time ticked by (he's 45 minutes late!) and Rui Jie confiscated my textbook to get me to 'calm down'. Those 14-year-olds can go to hell.
Finally the examiner arrived, and Royal made a quick escape, wishing us luck. So we were all rocking in my seats, I could hardly fill in my evaluation form without thinking about the test. When the 30 MCQ test came, I finished it in 8 minutes. But I spent another 8 minutes redoing the test as Royal advised.
End result? 27/30. Whee. Same as all my non-mugging friends =X I feel so cheated (first time). Congrats Jackson - only Cat High guy with 29/30!
Now, was the dreaded practical. I was first on the nominal roll and was rarr-ing to do my bandaging.
Examiner: "Since I was late, let's skip bandaging and just do CPR, okay?"
Everyone: "YESSSH"
Me:"WHAT. NO!"
W.T.H. How could they cancel that part which Royal drill us like crazy! Anyway I did the CPR, which was easy...but I was expecting him to complicate the scene for me. I completed it, and he said:
"Here, your slip of paper. Come back with it in 4 weeks, you've passed."
The room was clapping, but I was like D: WHAT. that was TOO EASY. I don't feel like I really deserved it...but I still passed. By Red Cross standards.
I was angry with such a test. I felt cheated (2nd time!) so they guys brought me to Plaza Singapura with them. He hit the arcade immediately, and YK convinced me to play Time Crisis 2. So I payed $1 for one game - and got killed by area 2. I rushed to get another two tokens with $1, and re-tried. Yong Kang was saying "Blue guys don't hit you, only red ones!" So I was real confident with blue guys until one of them shot me.
"WTH NO BLOODY WAY." I screamed at the screen with a blue revolver in my hand. Then I died again, before Yong Kang's first round. I felt so cheated (3rd time!)
Then we played abit of basketball...before approaching the terror machine. It's one of those with a large claw at the top you control, bring it down to the plush toy, and it carries it up and releases it into the prize chute. SCAMS. Joey and I decided to split the $1 cost and try. We moved the claw directly under the plush, pressed the button,
it reached down,
picked the plush up,
lifted it 3 inchs high,
THEN IT SLIPS OFF.
I FELT SO CHEATED (4th time!)
RAARRRRGGHH. Then Rui jie and Sebastian tried also, and also put their names down as 'yao qu tiao low' people as well. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
We dragged ourselves out of the arcade before we got scammed more. Then we went to all the figurine and replica model shops across the top floor staring at all the figurines we cannot afford :D
Then we went down and I needed to pick up a card. The NPCC guys had to go home already, but I have something personal to do still =)
I love the place Made With Love in plaza Singapura, it's like stepping out of the mall all together and into a whole new places that smells faintly of fresh pine wood, surrounded by paper of such warm colours and art materials of all kind. Thank you, the two of you there at MWL =)
Cheated 4 times in one day...but all that starts ends well =) Because I think what Royal did was right - drilling us all like crazy to boost our confidence in the face of a real emergency, we'd handle it independently and more skillfully in a calm manner. Thank you for being such a great teacher, Royal!
A first aider now!
Today? I did more entries into my NYAA silver, went to Bishan library in the afternoon, met KO, and had the most awkward time there =X
But all ends well too =)
